Interview

– Tell the readers some brief details about you before we get started.

I am a very driven and dedicated person. Whatever project/task I take on, you better be sure I will give it my 100%. I love fitness and have a passion for lifting weights. What I like the most about being in the fitness industry is the fact that I can motivate people from all over the world just by doing what I love. I am definitely not a fitness fanatic and my life does not revolve around fitness. I have a balanced fitness, work and social life. Always remember, balance is KEY!

– How and when did you get started in health and fitness

My first gym membership was at the age of 14 and my brother would drag me with him to the gym every night. That is how it all started.

– What mistakes you used to do when you began?

I think my biggest mistake and most beginners’ mistake is giving up the small important things in life because of diet/training. I can’t stress this enough. You need to have balance. You can diet, train, prep for a show and still have a social life, enjoy your family, and enjoy your loved ones. I think in the beginning when your passion for fitness is at its highest, all you think about is your goal, your diet and in that process, we sometimes forget to enjoy and appreciate the special moments in life. Let’s not forget that a moment that’s lost is lost forever. So find a balance!

– What is your diet like?

I’m not going to lie, diet is not my forte! Every once in a while I slip and put on a few pounds. I don’t let that ever put me down, it just gives me motivation to get back on track and push even harder!

My off season diet..
Breakfast: Oatmeal, TC-F Isolate Protein powder to substitute eggs (not a huge fan of eggs) 3 meals of: Flank steak (obsessed with steak!!!) either rice or potatoes and veggies Post Training Shake.

During contest prep my breakfast is the same. The other meals switch to chicken, sweet potatoes, and asparagus… simple and boring! Depending on progress I switch from chicken to fish.

– What is your typical workout routine?

My workout schedule for the most part goes like this:
Monday: Shoulders
Tuesday: Back
Wednesday: Glutes & Quads
Thursday: Triceps
Friday: Off
Saturday or Sunday: Glutes & Hams
Off season I always lift heavy and I do 3-4 sets of 8-12 reps of each exercise.
About 4-5 exercise per body part. I throw in a burnout routine here and there and implement plyos every other week to shock my body.

– Which are your top 3 exercises and why?

Shoulder presses… because it makes me feel like a beast LOL.
Squats… I love a challenge and love pushing myself to lift heavier every time.
Upright rows… don’t know why, but love this exercise.

– How do you keep motivated?

Just like everyone else, I follow a lot of fitness icons. Seeing their pictures everyday and seeing their struggles and success is what motivates me. Nobody is perfect, and seeing that even the fittest person in the world has their weak moments but breaks through them is what motivates me to keep going even when I fall off track.

– What is your favourite body part?

DELTS for sure!!!! Love delts!

– What is your favorite healthy meal?

Steak, steak, steak, steak! Did I say steak?!?! That’s all lol

– What is your favorite cheat meal?

My favorite and most common cheat meal: 2 triple cheeseburgers, extra cheese! BOOM! I cant eat!

– Do you do cardio? If so, what type of cardio?

Off Season I do 4-5 times a week, 45 mins a day.
During prep… oh boy 6 days a week, 2-3 hours a day!!!
I keep it simple, treadmill for the most part. A lot of running, I run sideways, backwards, lunges on the treadmill, incline running, sprints interval.

– What supplements do you use?

I use a lot of supplements, that’s what helps me maintain a balanced nutrition/weight during my off season and is what helps me achieve my goals during prep.
Supps I ALWAYS take: TC-F Isolate Protein for post workout, L-Carnitine (mix it in my oatmeal), Vanish Fat Burner in the morning, Dr. Jekyll and Karbolic for pre-workout, Liquid Aminos for muscle recovery. All my supps are from ProSupps.

– What is the best advice you have ever been given?

The most important thing about fitness is being comfortable in your own skin. Do it for you! Have the body that makes you happy, not everyone else. I love being fit and maintaining my curves/femininity!

– Other hobbies a part from fitness?

I love rollerblading, dancing, drinking wine and watching movies!

– Favorite fitness models, athletes or bodybuilders? Inspirations?

My fitness idol is Julie Bonnet, she is a WBFF Pro Fitness model, look her up!

– What are the most important tips you would give to our readers to achieve a Top Physique?

Everyone is going to give you his or her two senses on diet/training. Find one person you are confident in, and listen to that person only. Once you have a good mentor/coach, do your research, know why you are eating what you are eating, know why you are training a certain way, don’t just go through the motions. Once you broaden your knowledge, you will become more passionate about your fitness and it will come easier!

– Any quotes that describes your way of thinking?

Life begins at the end of your comfort zone.
